Eduard Fernández receives the Honorary Award at the MICE Inaugural Gala

The Catalan actor is honored at this great event held at CaixaFórum de València, with a devoted audience and a gala that was completed with the screening of the Mexican film 'Un disfraz para Nicolás'

The International Educational Film Festival organized this past Friday, September 30, the Grand Opening Gala, a great event that celebrated 10 years of history of this festival. The CaixaFórum of Valencia was the stage chosen to celebrate the birthday of the MICE, which brought together hundreds of people at a gala with music, humor and, of course, educational cinema.

All the spotlights were on the actor Eduard Fernández, Honorary Award for his professional career. An award that he received with “pride”, for being “a sincere and real award”, coming from a humble festival “that bets for the future of children”. In addition, Fernandez added that “it is fantastic that the audiovisual is studied and worked in schools. Of course, there is still a lot to do”.

Josep Arbiol, director of the festival, also took the stage to address the audience, thanking “all those people who have done their bit to build this festival, to make it reach 10 years and to make it a benchmark on the international scene”. He added that “MICE needs support to continue growing”, asking the authorities present “to institutionalize the festival”.

A cake symbolizing the 10-year history of MICE invited the group of people who make up the festival to come down to the stage and “blow out” the candles, wishing another 10 years of MICE. The gala, presented by Estela Martínez and Nico Ferrando, was enlivened by Lola Bou & Manel Brancal, and his band. In addition, at the end of the event, the Mexican film ‘Un disfraz para Nicolás’, directed by Eduardo Rivero, was screened.
